Jesus was teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath. There was a lady there who had a problem with her back, she couldn’t stand up straight and it had been like that for 18 years.
When Jesus saw her, He said to her “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity”. When Jesus put her hands on her, immediately she was able to stand up straight, and she praised God because she had been healed.
A man was brought to Jesus who was deaf and couldn’t speak and they asked for Jesus to put his hand on the man and heal him. Jesus took the man to one side, put His fingers in the man’s ears, touched his tongue, looked up to heaven and said “be opened”.
Immediately the man was able to hear and speak perfectly. Everyone was astonished at what they saw Jesus do and told as many people as they could about Him.
Jesus was by the sea passing through villages when a lady approached him and shouted, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David”
This lady had a daughter who was ill and it was very hard for this lady to look after her daughter. She had heard about this man Jesus who had been healing people and when she heard he was near her home she thought He could help her daughter.
Jesus ignored her at first, and the disciples told Jesus to send her away, but Jesus spoke to her.
Jesus told her that He was the Saviour for God’s people
Jesus went into a village between Galilee and Samaria. As he was going into the village ten men who had leprosy called out to Him, “Master, have pity on us”.
When Jesus saw them He told them to go and show themselves to the priest, and as they went they were healed of the leprosy. One of the men, when he saw he had been healed went back to Jesus, threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him.
Jesus asked the man where the other nine men were. None of the other men had come back to thank Jesus, only this man. Jesus said to him “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar sitting at the side of the road when Jesus walked past. Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”. Many people told him to be quiet but Jesus stopped and called him.
Jesus healed Bartimaeus because he had faith that Jesus was powerful enough to heal him. Bartimaeus’ sight was recovered and he began following Jesus.
Some of the disciples had seen Jesus risen from the dead, but Thomas hadn’t. He wouldn’t believe that Jesus had risen from the dead until he saw Him with his own eyes.
Jesus appeared to Thomas and he was amazed at what he saw and said “My Lord and my God”.
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
After the last supper, Jesus was arrested and sent before Pilate.
Pilate couldn’t find anything Jesus had done that was wrong or against the law. Pilate washed his hands because he didn’t want anything to do what happened to Jesus.
Pilate gave the crowd the option to set one person free, Jesus or the criminal Barabbas. The crowd chose Barabbas so Jesus was sentenced to death.
